LGU Creation
Margosatubig and Pagadian are the oldest municipalities
created on December 23, 1936. The municipalities of Aurora and Labangan
were taken from Pagadian in 1942 and 1949 respectively before the
latter become a city on June 21, 1969. Other municipality created
in 1940's, is Molave. There are ten (10) municipalities in the 1950's;
seven in District II and three (3) in District I. In 1960's, there
are only three (3) municipalities, also three (3) in the 70's, one
in the 80's and the latest that has been created are the municipalities
of Tigbao and Guipos in 1991.
