Age-Sex Structure

The male/female sex ratio is 103.22 in 1995. In 2000 census , the males still outnumbered the females with 103.18 sex ratio. (Table 3-5)

The Province had a high proportion of the younger age group. In 1995, the 0-14 age group comprises 42.60% of the total population and decreased with 0.03 % in 2000.

The 15-64 age group which are considered as the productive age group has increased in 2000 by 0.04%. For same year, the older age group (65 years old and over) constituted a small proportion at 2.86% in 1995 slightly decreased by 0.01 in 2000. (Table 3-1)
