107th Year Commemoration.....
ZAMBO SUR CELEBRATES
RIZAL DAY
Dr.Jose P. Rizal (1896-2003)

“On the field of battle,’mid the frenzy of fight, others have given their lives, without doubt or heed; the place matters not - cypress or laurel or lily white, scaffold or open plain, combat or martyrdom’s plight,’Tis ever the same, to serve our homeland and country’s need.” These are the last words of Dr. Jose P. Rizal as he recited his “Me Ultimo Adios” on that gloomy day of December 30, 1896 when he faces his death to the Filipino-Spanish Civil Guard in Bagumbayan (now Rizal Park).

On OPLAN TIGDAS 2004 (A reprint from Pagadian Express)

 MESSAGE

The Governor’s Christmas Message

Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council Nangandam

December 30, 1896, 7:03 in the morning the death ruffles of the drums filled the air and the guns of firing squad barked - that heralds the sublime martyrdom of the peerless genius and greatest hero of the Filipino nation.

Hence, today we amass as a people who dearly prize justice and soveriegnty, which are our potent armament in devastating the grip of oppression and the rule of evil that prevents our opportunity for growth and development 107 years ago, we’ve been deprived of the greatest person the Malayan race has produced, Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
