“Unity and Understanding Through Dialogue ” the chosen theme for the affair is said to very timely. This is true according to the Governor as the theme relates to peace and development endeavors of the province.

She said, “Unity and understanding are very vital ingredients in spurring incessant peace and progress. In this coming assemblage, I see one doable vision -- that is, to make ourselves the strong materials in the continuous making of Zamboanga del Sur as a province of sustainable peace and development. And I consider the Subanens ,and the Muslims and Christians alike as all- time partners in achieving this vision.”

“As the province never ceases in pushing developmental frontiers,” the Governor continued, “we need to always uphold the importance of dialogue as one best mechanism to keep ourselves open to everyone as we listen, speak and talk about various developmental issues, emerging problems and their possible antidote. Dialogue, certain I am, enables us to live up to the tenet of unity and understanding - leading us towards our lasting experience of peace and development.” .
